Richard "Dick" F. Hahn
Richard "Dick" F. Hahn, 85, of Billings, Mont., who started Dick’s Drive-In in Hardin and was a golf champion, died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at RiverStone Hospice House.
He was born Sept. 8, 1924, in Haigler, Neb., the son of Charles Wilbur Hahn and Helen Louise Ubelhoer. He graduated from high school in Lusk, Wyo., in 1942. In 1943 he entered the Army Air Corps and served in England from 1943 to 1946.
On Aug. 8, 1947, he married Margaret “Peg” Lewis. They lived in Billings from 1957 to 1967 where he worked as a salesman traveling Eastern Montana. The couple moved to Hardin and opened Dick’s Drive-In. His wife died Jan. 10, 1979.
On March 28, 1982, he married Norma Bell. They moved to Billings in 1985.
While in Hardin, Mr. Hahn was the Exalted Ruler at the Elks Club. He held the course record at Fort Custer Golf Course for many years and also was the Lake Hills senior golf champion two times.
Survivors include his wife, Norma; sons, Greg of Las Vegas and Tom of Billings; a daughter, Marjorie Cervoski of Loman, Idaho; three stepchildren, Pat Bell of Sheridan, Wyo., Laveda Nibbs of Durango, Colo., and Collette Ostermiller of Billings; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Services were Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Cremation and Funeral Gallery.
