Death Claims Mrs. Ray A. Jenkins Following Operation; Body Taken to Minnesota Today for Interment
Thon Book 9
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Alice May Jenkins of this city, wife of Ray A. Jenkins, who passed away at the local hospital at 3:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, March 12th, were conducted from the chapel of the Peet mortuary this (Thursday) morning at 10 o'clock. The services were in charge of Ray Hauenstine. The remains of the deceased were then prepared for shipment to Worthington, Minn., where last rites will be conducted and interment made. The body left this (Thursday) afternoon, accompanied by Mr. Jenkins and son.
Mrs. Jenkins had been suffering from a gall bladder disturbance for some time and last Saturday was admitted to the hospital for surgical treatment. The operation was performed that day, but the patient failed to respond to treatment and her condition grew gradually worse until death claimed her. She had reached the age of 42 years, 7 months and 6 days.
Besides her husband, the deceased is survived by one daughter, Mary Ellen, and three sons, Robert, Donald and Raymond. She was born on August 6, 1897 at Allen, Nebr., where she grew to young woman hood. Following her marriage to Mr. Jenkins they moved to this county, locating in the Hat Creek vicinity about 18 years ago. It was about two years ago that they removed to this city, where they have since made their home.
