Blake C. Ford
Memorial services for Blake C. Ford, 71, (were) held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010 at Lighthouse Ministries with Pastor Rick Carroll and Reverend Leslie Kee officiating. Burial followed in the Valley View Cemetery. Blake died Sept. 29, 2010 at his home and cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Waggin‚ Tails Animal Shelter. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com.
Blake was born Jan. 22, 1939 in Torrington, Wyo. the son of Boyd P. Shearwood and Margaret J. Carroll. He attended school in Lusk, Wyo. and after graduating high school there entered the U.S. Air Force. After his discharge he married Sharon Clarke in April of 1964 and they were later divorced. He married Chara Chambers in April of 1983 in Ft. Collins, Colorado and they were also divorced. He was a long time resident of Lusk and worked for the Wyoming Highway Department where he retired. He was active in the Lusk Elk’s Lodge and the Lusk Fire Department. After moving to Torrington he became involved in the Moose Lodge. He had been in ill health for some time.
Blake is survived by sisters Linda O'Neill of Thornton, Colo. and Dora Mostek and her husband Garrett of Woodriver, Nebraska; brother Albert Ford and his wife Sally of Alamosa, Colo.; aunts Gertrude (Gertie) Poage Eddington of Torrington, Wyo. and Elizabeth Huebotter of Placentia, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews, and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Boyd P. Shearwood; his mother Margaret J. Carroll Ford; and his stepfather Charles Ivan Ford.
