Eugene Foley Dies in Denver Hospital

Eugene E. Foley, 56, died in St. Joseph Hospital, Denver, Sunday of a heart condition.

Rosary services were held Tuesday evening at 7:30 in the Peet Chapel.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Leo's Catholic Church with Rev. M. J. McBrien officiating. Interment was in the Lusk cemetery with the Peet Mortuary in charge.

Casket-bearers were: Fred Sheaman, Andy Neilson, Stace Peet, Leonard Ong, William Magoon and Clyde Blackmore.

Eugene E. "Butch" Foley was born in Merna, Nebr., June 16, 1898, the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Foley. Later he moved with his family to Anselmo, Neb. Here he met and married Miss Edithe Peterson of Arnold. The couple lived near Anselmo on a ranch and here two children were born.

The Foleys came to Wyoming about 12 years ago and since that time he has driven the Lance Creek mail route and delivered milk to Lance Creek for the Kilmer Creamery.

Mr. Foley was taken ill early in January and was in the Niobrara Memorial Hospital for three weeks before going to Denver Jan. 25.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edithe Foley; two children: Donald Eugene Foley of the U. S. Marine Corps and Mary Frances Foley at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Foley of Anselmo; two brothers, Elmer Foley of Thermopolis and Ed Foley of Lusk; and one sister, Mrs. Ralph Hanson of Lusk.

Among the out of town relatives here for the funeral are: Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Foley of Anselmo; Mr. and Mrs. Nels Peterson of Arnold; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Peterson of Brady, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Foley of Thermopolis, and Mr. and Mrs. Olin Jacquot of Casper.
