Ronald Eugene "Ron" Kane

Ronald Eugene "Ron" Kane, age 71, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away Monday, Nov. 29, 2010 at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home in Hot Springs, SD.

He was born Oct. 6, 1939, in Hot Springs to Joe A. and Marie (Marking) Kane. His younger years were spent on the family ranch in Niobrara County, Wyo. Gene served two years in the United States Army. He spent his adult life in Hot Springs.

Gene is survived by his brothers, Bill (Ginny) Kane of Atwood, KS; Dick (Helene) Kane of Douglas, WY; Mike (Linda) Kane of Lusk, WY, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Jerome, John and Chuck.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at the State Veterans Home in Hot Springs with Chaplain Loyd Nielson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Interment was held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Lusk Cemetery in Lusk, Wyo.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Ron’s name to benefit the Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home.
