Silver Springs Pioneer Dies

Frederick Rimington, 81, long-time resident of Wyoming, died at a Torrington hospital, March 1.

The Rimington family resided on the Silver Springs ranch, south of Lusk, for a number of years, moving to Lingle in 1923.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 3, at 2 p.m., in the Episcopal Church at Lingle, with the Rev. W. W. McNeil officiating. The remains were taken to Denver for burial in the Fairmount cemetery.

Frederick Wilson Rimington was born January 31, 1865, at Broomhead Hall, Yorkshire, England. He came to this country as a youth of 18, in the year 1883. He was ready to go to New Zealand from England when Sir Horace Plunkett of Sheridan, Wyo. persuaded him to come to Wyoming.

He was educated for the English Navy and finished school at Gruges Belgium. Mr. Rimington was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Episcopal Church.

He was married in England to Eva Gilbert in 1890. She passed away in Chicago in 1902. Two children were born to this union: Mrs. P. H. Ginn of Lingle and Bryan W. Rimington of Omaha, Neb. He was married at Douglas on August 24, 1904 to Ruby Ellen Fowler. Mr. Rimington leaves his widow; a daughter Mrs. Virginia Peterson of Lingle. A daughter Ellen preceded him in death in 1925.
