Gail F. Hinrichsen Killed in Accident

Gail F. Hinrichsen, 26, a native of Lance Creek, was killed instantly Saturday, June 3, near Glenwood Springs, Colo., when he was caught by falling cargo from the overturning semi-trailer truck which he was driving.

His truck, one of six in a cargo movement, went out of control and overturned after climbing a road bank. Hinrichsen suffered a skull fracture, chest injuries, deep lacerations on his shoulders and broken bones.

His twin brother was driving a truck behind him.

Mr. Hinrichsen, who was born at Lance Creek, Oct. 1, 1916 and attended schools there, moved to Casper about three years ago. He was employed by the tomlin Transportation Company and the Salt Creek freightways for some time until he took a job with Manning and Brown on July 27 of last year.

He was driving a Manning & Brown truck, loaded with pipe, at the time of his death. When he saw the truck was going to turn over, he jumped and was caught under the load and was killed instantly.

Burial was made in Douglas on Wednesday.

He is survived by his wife and two children; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Hinrichsen of Lance Creek; his twin brother, Glen Hinrichsen, of Casper; three sisters, Mrs. Frances Turner of Casper, Mrs. Hib Brunke of Lusk, and Lorita of the family home.
