Wm. Delahoyde Dies at Home in Douglas

William Delahoyde, 64, prominent resident of Lusk for many years, died at his home in Douglas Saturday, June 10, following a year's illness.

Funeral services were held in the Congregational church of Douglas on Monday afternoon at 2:00 and burial was made in the Douglas Park cemetery.

William Delahoyde was born in Grinnell, Ia., on Oct. 19, 1880. He moved with his parents to Prescott, Ark., at an early age, coming to Wyoming in 1907, settling at Lusk, then in Converse county.

He entered the army in World War I and served overseas until the signing of the armistice. He was a member of the American Legion.

He was engaged in business in Lusk for 19 years and later at Thermopolis where he owned and operated a theatre.

In February 1920, he married Miss Sadie Messenger of Douglas. Mr. and Mrs. Delahoyde went to Douglas to live in 1928, when they took over the management of the LaBonte Hotel. For a period of time the Delahoydes left there and lived at Cheyenne for a year where he managed the Frontier Hotel.

Among the former Lusk friends who attended the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Petz, Miss Barbara Petz, Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Boyd, Mr. and Mrs. George Miller, Mrs. Miller, Sr., Mrs. Bessie Bishop, Miss Leta Bishop, Mrs. George Gibson, Mrs. H. J. Templeton, J. W. Agnew and W. J. Mill.
