WM. H. HECKERT OF VAN TASSELL DIED OCTOBER 12

William H. Heckert passed away at his home in Van Tassell on Thursday October 12, 1939 due to infirmities of advanced age.

Funeral services were conducted at Van Tasssell at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon, October 15, Reverend Marshall pastor of the Congregational church in Lusk officiating. Singers during the service were Mrs. Earl Ellicott of Riverton, former resident of Van Tassell, and mrs. H. E. Zerbe with Mrs. McHale accompanying at the piano. The songs wee "Old Rugged Cross," "The City Four Square," "Rock of Ages."

Burial took place in the Van Tassell cemetery, with the remains being placed to rest by five sons and one grandson of the deceased, Wayne, Ray, Earl, Harry, Rollo and Leonard Schraefer.

William H. Heckert was born February the fourth, 1863 in Crestline, Ohio, and passed away on October the 12th, 1939 in the family home at Van Tassell, Wyoming at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 8 days. He was united in marriage to Eva Stone on December 11, 1888 at North Robinson, Ohio. To this union was born eleven children of which two sons proceeded him in death, Benjamin and Albert. This family moved from Ohio to Illinois in the year of 1899, then to Minnesota in 1906, and from there to Wyoming in 1910 where they made their home until the time of Mr. Heckert's death.

He leaves to mourn, his wife Eva Heckert, and nine children Earl, Wayne, and Ray of Lusk, Wyo., Charles of St. Paul, Minn., Walter of Tiro, Ohio, Rollo of Cloudcrapt, New Mexico, Harry and Marie of Van Tassell, Wyo. and Mrs. Howard Michael of Hillsboro, Oregon. One adopted sister of Jarod, Ohio, fifteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
