George Story dies in Ft. Collins

George L. Story, 81, died Friday, Jan. 19, at a Ft. Collins, Colo. nursing home after an illness of one year.

The Rev. David Freehling officiated the funeral held at the Warren Funeral Chapel, Fort Collins, Jan. 22 at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Dayton Johnson, organist, accompanied Alan Somers, soloist, as he sang, "How Great Thou Art".

Pallbearers were Story's son Rex Story, and sons-in-law, David Kemp, Donald Ihrke, Ralph Sides, Larry Fay and Darrell Anderson, nephew. Interment was in the Grandview Cemetery, Ft. Collins.

George was born Sept. 21, 1897, in Story, Neb., a town named after his grandfather. He spent his early years in Nebraska, moving to Wyoming and ranching from 1933 to 1960 in Hat Creek. Retiring in 1960, he moved to Ft. Collins.

He was married to Freda Rizor on Sept. 6, 1926, in Casper.

He is survived by his widow Freda; two sons: Rex Story of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Steven Story of Walden, Colo.; four dagutheters: Amy Kemp of Ft. Collins, Marlene Sides of Lusk, Georgia Lee Fay of Laramie and Willadell Ihrke of Gunnison, Colo.; a brother Lloyd Story and two sisters Thirza Hopper and Blanch York, all of Harrison; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Contributions to any charity may be made through the Warren Funeral Chapel.
