Eugene Delmar Keys

Eugene Delmar Keys passed away July 19, 2012 in Casper, Wyo. He was 75. A memorial service was held on July 28 at 11 a.m. at the Manville Alliance Church in Manville, Wyo. With Pastor Brent Venable officiating.

Gene Keys was born to Donald Keys and Wyome Bourrett and raised in Lusk, Wyo. He graduated from Lusk High then joined the United States Naval Band. Gene was on the USS Midway out of California, where he met his wife Dorothy Regan, of Casper, Wyo. After his service in the Navy they returned to Casper where he signed on with the Casper Fire Department. Dorothy passed away after the birth of their second son. Gene later remarried to Georgia Campbell and welcomed another son. They moved to Mesa, Ariz. where he continued his career as a firefighter with the Tempe Fire Department.

Gene moved back to Manville in 1994 where he settled in as an artist, doing sign painting for many of the area businesses, as well as making unique artistic gifts and decorative items which he sold locally. His favorite hobbies included painting, drawing, creating new and unusual art, restoring his Model Tís and tending his garden. His ex-wife Georgia passed away December 2005.

He is survived by three sons, Daniel, David and Donald, six grand-children and his sister Avanelle Howe.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, Wyome Bourett, father Donald Keys and brother Donald Keys, his first wife Dorothy Regan and his second wife Georgia Campbell.
