Harry Leonard Soderberg

Funeral services for Harry Leonard Soderberg, 84, of Encampment, Wyo., were held May 12, at the First Baptist Church in Encampment. Interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverside, Wyo., with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6125.

Harry Soderberg, died May 7, 2003, at Valley View Rehab and Care Center in Saratoga, Wyo.

He was born Aug. 21, 1918, in Fort Collins, Colo., the son of John and Wilamina (Eck) Soderberg. He was raised and educated at Stout School in Horsetooth, Colo.

He did a lot of ranching through out his life, before going into the military. He served in the US Army during WWII. After the service, he returned to Fort Collins where he married Zella Groenewold on Feb. 5, 1946. The couple purchased a ranch in the Fort Collins area in 1951. Then in 1978, they purchased a ranch in Jay Em, Wyo., before moving to Encampment in 2003.

He loved to fish on the creek when time allowed.

He was preceded in death by is parents; an infant son Bernie; two sisters, Cora and Ellen; and five brothers, Johnny, Art, Herbert, Carl and Guy.

He is survived by his wife Zella of Encampment, one daughter, Bonnie Wolaver of Loveland, Colo.; three sons, Dale and Keith Soderberg of Encampment, and Leonard Soderberg of Pinedale, Wyo.; two brothers, Ralph Soderberg of Fort Collins, and Paul Soderberg of Lusk; one sister, Dorothy Cole of Longview, Texas; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Dale, Leonard, Keith and Paul Soderberg, Dale Wolaver, and Richard Sampers.

Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home of Laramie was in charge of arrangements.
