MRS. ALGER JOHNSON DIES IN CHEYENNE

Mrs. Esther Johnson, wife of Alger E. Johnson of Cheyenne, passed away at the Memorial Hospital in that city on Friday, July 20, following a three weeks' illness from spinal meningitis.

Funeral services were held from the Congregational Church in Cheyenne on Sunday afternoon. Rev. Barwick, pastor of the church, was on his vacation, so the service was conducted by Rev. John M. Pattison of the Presbyterian church.

The funeral arrangements were in charge of the Hobbs Mortuary, of which Cecil Starks was manager.

The active pallbearers were William (Scotty Jack, Dorsey Morris, A.E. Wilde, Clifford Bloomfield of Cheyenne and Walter M. Gregory and Earl M. Criss of Lusk.

The honorary pallbearers were John Pierson, E. Langley, James Anselmi, Joe Larson, Clarence Laurence, H.M. Barnhart, Charles Morgan, C. C. Browning of Cheyenne and William D. Miller and A. B. Milles of Lusk.

Interment was made in the Bethel Cemetery.

The Johnson family were residents of Lusk for nearly ten years and still have a large circle of friends in this community.

Mrs. Johnson was active in the work of the Eastern Star, the P.E.O. Sisterhood and the Congregational Church, with which she was affiliated.

Eleven years ago the family left Lusk to make their home in Cheyenne.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Johnson is survived by two sons, Lt. Robert E. Johnson of Gulfport, Miss., and Pfc Richard W. Johnson of Sheppard Field, Texas, and a daughter, Mrs. Isabel Henry of Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Arrabella Pruner and Mrs. Mabel Huffman, both of Omaha, Nebr., and a niece, Doris Evans of Cheyenne.
