Ruby Kremers, 92, of Laporte, Colorado, died Tuesday, December 2, 1997. A mass of Christian burial was held at Allnutt Funeral Service in Fort Collins, Colorado.

She was born August 13, 1905, in North Dakota to Charles Lundin and Irene LaSalle, a descendant of LaSalle the Explorer. She married William "Bill" Kremers in 1928. In 1943, the Kremers moved their registered Shorthorn herd by train cars from Golva, North Dakota, to Laporte, Colorado, where they continued to ranch at the mouth of Poudre Canyon, switching from Shorthorns to registered Herefords, until Bill's death in 1979. She was a ranch woman all her married life. At the age of 90, she began taking piano lessons. she loved animals of all shapes and sizes and was particularly fond of German Shepherd dogs. She remained a stiff-spined lady in all circumstances.

She was a member of the Livermore Women's Club, Larimer County Cattle Women, Colorado Cattlemans' Association, and the nationa Western Stock Show Association.

She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Burnheide of Fruita, Colorado; and twin daughter and son, Joan Sheverbush of Pittsburg, Kansas, and Jim Kremers of rural Niobrara County, Wyoming; seven grandchildren which include Cody Kremers and Justin Kremers of Niobrara County who continue the ranching heritage with their father; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Elks Scholarship fund or to any local memorial of choice in care of Bader Mortuary, Lusk, Wyoming.
