Michael A. Haley was born Aug. 7, 1940 in Omaha, Neb., to Marcella and Timothy Haley.
He died at the age of 74.
The family moved to Lusk, Wyo., when Michael was in middle school. He graduated from Niobrara High School and then graduated from electronics school, having completed some of the first computer-based electronics classes in the nation. He was an enterprise Regional Manager for Sun Microsystems in Hillsboro at the time of his retirement. During his career Mike received numerous awards and recognition for sustained customer and employee satisfaction, as well as successful financial operations.
Mike married Olga Spencer in 1992 and the couple had many enjoyable years traveling across the U.S., Europe, Canada and Mexico before his wife preceded him in death in March 2014.
He is survived by daughter Kim Haley of Portland, son Steven Haley and daughter-in-law Sarah also of Portland and grandchildren Lilly and Jones Haley, step-daughter Terra Spencer and step-son Michael Spencer of Portland. His brother Jim Haley of Corpus Christie, Tex., survives him as does his sister Marsha Harbaugh of Casper, Wyo., and several nieces and nephews.
