Robert A. Brown
Services for Robert A. Brown, 68, were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Monday May 3 at the Ballard Funeral Home in Cody by Rev. Roger A. Waid with the Shoshone Lodge No. 21, AF&AM conducting the Masonic services. Burial followed at Riverside cemetery.
Mr. Brown died Wednesday, April 28, 1993, at Wyoming Medical Center. He was born June 15, 1924, in Keeline, the son of Benjamin F. and Ellen (Dieckman) Brown.
On Sept. 5, 1948 he married Lyola D. Cox in Lusk.
Mr. Brown grew up on the family ranch and graduated from Manville High School.
He served with the U.S. Army Signal Corps in the European Theater during WWII.
An employee of Marathon Oil for 34 years, Mr. Brown and his family moved from Lance Creek to the Cody Community in 1951.
He enjoyed leatherwork and operated Bob's Leather Shop for a time. Mr. Brown also enjoyed baseball and gun collecting. He was involved with the Gun Shooters Club in Cody and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners and the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Lynette Hazlitt of Cody and Dorrene Butterfield of Lincoln, Neb.; a brother, Harry Brown of Lusk; a sister, Dorothy Neary of Worland; and two grandchildren.
