Bert Cuney Dies in Hot Springs

Bert Cuney, 76, died in the Veteran's Hospital from a heart condition.

He leaves no known relatives and was never married. Mr. Cuney was born in Warren, Pa., January 8, 1887. He first came to Wyoming in a wagon from Texas in 1903. He homesteaded north of Casper in the earlier 1900's and later took up a homestead south of Douglas, giving up that homestead to the government for an irrigation project. He served in the Army during World War I.

He spent most of his lifetime working on ranches in the area.

He suffered his first heart attack in 1958 and since then has been plagued with a heart condition.

Funeral services will be held from the Veteran's Hospital in Hot Springs Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Hot Springs.

He enlisted on June 24, 1918 at Chadron NE and was discharged on May 9,1919 at FT Riley KS, twelve friends attended his funeral.
