Vernon Iversen Dies in S. Dak.

Funeral services for Vernon L. Iversen, Edgemont, who died Sunday in Hot Springs following a brief illness, were being held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hot Springs with Father Whiteside officiating.

Burial was being made in Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, S.D., with an honor guard from Ellsworth Air Force Base. McColley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born March 28, 1911, to Thomas and Edna Iversen at Harrison. He was raised in Harrison and on June 20, 1936, he married Harriet Jordan and they made their home in Harrison. In 1950 they moved to Igloo, S.D. where he was employed by Black Hills Army Depot. They lived there for 16 years then moved to Security, Colorado, where they lived until his retirement from government service in May 1971. They had planned to make their home in Edgemont.

Survivors include his wife Harriet Iversen; a son Zane V. Iversen of Denver; three daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Margo) Anderson of Edgemont, Mrs. Wayne (Clova) Wasserburger of Edgemont, Mrs. Jim (Gwenda) Morrison of Rochester, N. Y.; a brother Charles Iversen of Bend, Ore.; his mother Mrs. Edna Iversen of Harrison; and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and one sister.
