Virginia Smyth Abell

Virginia Smyth Abell, 68, of 712 Missouri Ave., St. Cloud, Fla., died July 7, 1990.

Born in Edgemont, S.D., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William H. Smyth of Lusk, Wyo., she moved to St. Cloud from Leonardtown, Md., in 1956. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, St. Cloud, where she taught CCD for many years. She was a pink lady with the St. Cloud Hospital Auxiliary and was a graduate of St. Mary's College, St. Mary City, Md.

Survivors include her husband, C. Whitney Abell; sons, C. W. Jr., Winter Garden; and Billy, St. Cloud; daughters, Suzanne Grissom, Kissimmee; Debby Hays, Jacksonville; and Molly Smyth, Apopka; and 11 grandchildren.

Scripture services were held July 9 at Conrad and Thompson Funeral Home.

The funeral mass was celebrated July 10 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, St. Cloud, with the Rev. Fabian E. Gimeno, celebrant.

Pallbearers were Clint Grissom, Clay Grissom, Charles Ponton, John Ford, Brison Norris and Wally Smyth.

Conrad and Thompson Funeral Home, Kissimmee, was in charge of arrangements.
