Jim Roberts, 67, Dies Monday

James E. (Jim) Roberts, 67, a resident of Niobrara County for 59 years, died Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Raymond Bower in Worland. Funeral services will be held from the Peet Chapel in Lusk at 2:00 this Thursday afternoon.

Mr. Roberts was born in DeSmet, S. Dak., August 5, 1900, to Mr. and Mrs. Burton L. Roberts. In 1909 he moved to Van Tassell with his parents. He and Coila Leona Calhoun were married October 31, 1919, at Chadron and became the parents of nine sons and four daughters.

The Robert family moved to Lusk in 1940 and for a number of years he worked for Niobrara County as road superintendent. Later he worked on street maintenance in Lusk until he retired in 1965.

Survivors include four sisters-Mrs. Elmer Gusman, Bridgeport, Neb.; Mrs. Edward Simon, Scottsbluff; Mrs. Phoebe Calhoun, Greeley, Colo.; Mrs. Maurice Coleman, China Lake, Calif.; seven sons, Ralph, Mt. Clair, Calif.; Harold, Porterville, Calif.; Jack and Donald of Los Angeles, Calif.; Wesley, Visalia, Calif.; Alvin, San Bernadino, Calif.; Larry, Lusk; four daughters, Mrs. Dave Wilson, Riverton; Mrs. Raymond Bower, Worland; Mrs. William Erspamer, Yakimo, Wash.; Mrs. Amiel Seegrist, Pocatello, Idaho.
