Ralph (Val) Valentine

Former Lusk resident Ralph Maxwell (Val) Valentine died Oct. 27 at Memorial Hospital in Redding, Calif., at the age of 68.

A native of Johnstown, Neb., Mr. Valentine was a resident of Cottonwood. He had lived in Shasta County, Calif., for the last five years.

Mr. Valentine was a retired cook.

He was an Army veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in South Dakota.

He is survived by a brother, Lewis, of Bend, Ore., and a sister Grayce Alexander, also of Cottonwood. A service was held at Lawncrest Chapel in Redding, with Willard Presson officiating. Burial followed at Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding.

The family prefers contributions to Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Note: The Social Security Index lists the death date as September 1979.
