Nick VanSant

Nick VanSant, 78, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, died Friday, June 18, 1993 at Gerald Champion Memorial Hospital in Alamogordo.

Mr. VanSant was born June 18, 1915 in Van Tassell, Wyoming. He has been a resident of Alamogordo since 1981 and was formerly of Chadron, Nebraska where he had owned and operated the Mobil Oil Service Station until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Alamogordo; a life member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge of Chadron; and a member of the Oddfellows Hall of Chadron.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy "Pat" VanSant of the family home; four daughters, Joan Whitley of Wickenburg, Arizona, Linda Marshall and her husband Harry of Holyoke, Colorado, Marjorie Hinman and her husband Ed of Alliance, Nebraska and Becky Davison of Alamogordo; eight grandchildren; a brother, Newt VanSant of Boise, Idaho; and a sister, Eliza Totter of Oakridge, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, LaVerne VanSant, in 1945.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Alamogordo with the Rev. Rick Eichenlaub and Pastor George Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery in Alamogordo.

Services are under the direction of Hamilton Funeral Home in Alamogordo.
