Forrest Van Tassell Dies in Hot Springs; Funeral Thursday

Forrest Van Tassell, 63, of Lusk died at the Veterans Hospital in Hot Springs, S.Dak., Monday morning. Military funeral services will be conducted from the Peet Chapel in Lusk Thursday afternoon at 2:00. Burial will be in the Lusk cemetery with Bob Allen playing taps.

The Rev. Fred Bolinger of the First Baptist Church of Lusk will officiate. Casket bearers will be C. E. Marvin, Clyde Blackmore, Harry Austin, Walter Schnorenberg, R. C. Bafford and Jim Pfister.

Mr. Van Tassell was born September 4, 1903, at Peever, S. Dak., to Leon R. and Ivy May Van Tassell.

Survivors include a son Richard of Sibley, Iowa; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Doris Newert, Florence, Ore.; two aunts, Marian Van Tassell and Maude Martin.

His parents died previously.
