Richard C. Whitmore

Funeral services for Richard C. Whitmore were held Monday, December 28, at St. George's Episcopal Church in Lusk with Rev. Jess Reeves officiating. Burial services followed at Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. Whitmore, age 45, died of a massive coronary on Tuesday Dec. 22, 1987 at West Park County Hospital in Cody, WY.

Born Dec. 14, 1942 in Casper, WY to Richard and Helen Whitmore, he graduated from Niobrara County High School in 1961, following which he joined the U.S. Navy which he served for the next nine years.

In 1967, while still in the Navy, Richard married Carol Anderson. They had two children, Adrian and Amber.

Richard was then employed by Husky Oil in Cody, WY until they sold their business to Marathon Oil Company. At the time of his death he was self-employed as a computer technician and programmer.

He also served as the treasurer of the Cody Country Art League and was himself a professional artist. He also served as a lay reader for the Christ Episcopal Church for many years and was a member of the Cody Kountry Aquadic Team.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard B. Whitmore and by his grandparents.

Survivors include: his son, Adrian Whitmore, age 16, of Lusk, WY; his daughter Amber, age 13 of Fareham, Hampshire, England; his mother Helen Whitmore of Lusk; his sister, Jannice McLain of Plainview, NE; two nieces, Dee Huff of Lusk, WY and Shanda McLain of Plainview, NE; his aunt, Elva Payn of Bellingham, WA; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Peet Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
