Funeral Held for Joseph Wolfe

Funeral service was held Monday in Casper for former Lance Creek resident Joseph J. Wolfe, 72, who died in Casper November 18 following a lengthy illness. He was a twin brother of Ben Wolfe of Lusk. The service was conducted by the Rev. Mark Tusken at St. Mark's Episcopal Church.

Joseph Wolfe was born October 10, 1910, at Durham, Kan., where he was reared and educated. He came to Wyoming in 1929 and homesteaded north of Lance Creek. He and Fern Hitchcock were married in Hot Springs on August 1, 1937. Mr. Wolfe worked on several ranches in the area. Later, he was the bodyman at the Chevrolet Garage in Lusk. He then went to work for the Continental Oil Company until he retired in 1975, when the couple moved to Casper.

He is survived by his wife, Fern; daughters, Janet Lincoln of Casper and Deana Schamp of Los Angeles; brother Ben Wolfe of Lusk; two sisters, Amelia Stokes of Dodge City, Kansas and Mary Duckworth of Loveland, Colo.; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Memorials to the Cancer Society or the Blue Envelope Fund would be appreciated by the family.
