O.N. Worley of Harrison Dies Sat.

Oscar N. Worley, 70, of Harrison died of a heart condition in Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, at 1:45 a.m. Saturday. He had been taken to Omaha by his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Worley of Lusk, just a few days prior to his death.

Mr. Worley was well known in Lusk primarily because of his golfing activities. He is a former member of the Niobrara Country Club and one year was champion of the Club's annual Open Tournament.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church in Harrison Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in Harrison.

Oscar Nathan Worley, son of Caleb and Hattie Worley, was born at Springview, Nebraska, August 22, 1887.

As a youth he attended school in Springview, Bassett and Ainsworth, at which places his father had mail routes. Oscar often helped his father on these mail routes and at times took the responsibility of delivering the mail by himself between Ainsworth and Springview.

While still in high school at Ainsworth, Oscar learned telegraphy. He soon became proficient and began his railroad career as telegraph operator at Ainsworth. His first agency with the Chicago and North Western Railway was at Newell, S. D. He later served as agent at Hay Springs, Rushville and Fort Robinson before moving to Harrison in the fall of 1926, where he was still agent at the time of his death. Had he lived until August 1, he would have completed his 50th year with C. & N. W.

Mr. Worley and Essie Johnson were married January 6, 1910 and were the parents of two sons, Loren and Evan.

Surviving him are his wife, Essie of Harrison; his two sons, Loren of Long Beach, California and Evan of Lusk; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Samuel E. of Baker, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Guy Eversole of Elk Creek, Nebr., and Mrs. Isobel Graetz of Omaha; three nephews, three nieces.

Mr. Worley has long been a member of the Methodist Church, the Odd Fellow Lodge of Harrison, and other civic organizations.
