Wilber O. Wright

Funeral services for Wilber O. Wright, 78, were held Nov. 11, 2002, at the Lost Springs Community Hall. Interment was in the Jireh Cemetery.

Wilber died Nov. 5, 2002, at his home at Orin Junction near Douglas, Wyo.

Wilber was born July 17, 1924, in Lost Springs, the son of Lee S. and Florence G. (Hebbert) Wright. He was reared and educated in Lost Springs. He married Goldie Rose Pickenpaugh on Feb. 14, 1944, in Casper, Wyo. They lived on the family ranch at Lost Springs and Wilber worked in the oilfield and construction throughout the Rocky Mountain States. They returned to Douglas and the family ranch in 1970. Wilber had lived in Orin Junction for the past 15 years. He enjoyed his family and friends, rodeos, animals, gardening and hunting. He was always entertaining people with stories about the adventures in his life.

He is survived by his daughter, Ruey R. Eaton of Vernal, Utah; son Lee R. Wright of El Centro, Calif.; two sisters, Jeannette Pebbles of Casper and Ilene Frye of Lusk; one aunt, Ruth McGannon of Chadron, Neb.; two granddaughters, Deanna Kurasz of Aurora, Colo., and Vonda Jo Renwick of Vernal, Utah; three grandsons, two great-grandsons and eight great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Goldie on May 8, 1977; sisters, Geneva Murphy, Lillian Wright, Ruey Wright and brother, George Wright.

Memorials to Douglas Senior Center, PO Box 192, Douglas, WY 82633 would be appreciated by the family.

Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas was in charge of arrangements.
