Edwin Clair "Varg" Vargason

(June 22, 1925 - May 16, 2014)

The Lusk Herald
June 11, 2014

Edwin Clair Vargason of Denver City, Texas departed this life May 16th, 2014 at the age of 88 years. He was born June 22, 1925 to parents Erwin and Estella Vargason of Inman, Nebraska.

He entered the United States Navy in 1941 and quickly rose to the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After his return to civilian life in 1946, he married Nellie Jensen (now deceased) of Scottsbluff, Nebraska. To that union was born a son, Dennis Erwin, deceased.

He dedicated 40 years working for the Atlantic Richfield Oil Company.

He is survived by an adopted son, Edwin Clyde Vargason and granddaughter, Sarah; two sisters, Anita Culver of Troutdale, Oregon and Linda McDaniel of Denton, Texas.

Clair or "Varg" as he was called by his close friends was a quiet man, a hard worker, and always willing to help out a neighbor. We remember, with a smile, his quick wit and droll sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by friends and loved ones.
