Gladys M. Ferris

Graveside services for Gladys M. Ferris, 87, were held Saturday, Aug. 21, 1993, in the Lusk Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Burdick officiating.

Mrs. Ferris died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 1993, at her daughter's home in Manville. Gladys May Walts Ferris was born Oct. 21, 1905, in Rushville, Neb., the daughter of Lee S. and Nancy Vlenette Green Musfelf Walts. Her family were prominent Nebraska sand hill's settlers and homesteaders. She received her education in schools in Nebraska and attended the Methodist Church.

She married Arthur Preston Ferris Dec. 21, 1926, at Oshkosh, Neb. The family moved to the Redbird area north of Lusk in 1936 and in 1941 they moved to Manville. Mr. Ferris died June 26, 1968, and Mrs. Ferris continued to make her home in Manville.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one half-brother and two children.

She is survived by daughters, Elsie Largen, Michigan; Mary Tschacher, Manville; sons, Clifford, Lusk; James, Newcastle; Bill, National City, Calif., Lawrence, Torrington; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
