Mrs. Sine Madsen Fjordbak, 54 years of age, wife of W. H. L. Fjordbak of Van Tassell, passed away at the Lusk Hospital at 8:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, May 17, from a heart ailment, following a major operation about three months ago, from which she had not fully recovered.

Mrs. Fjordbak was taken to the hospital Monday afternoon for treatment, but she was in a serious condition and failed to rally. She underwent a major operation last February which told heavily on her vitality and she was unable to stand the heart attack.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Congregational Church in Van Tassell with Rev. Cowman officiating. Interment will be made in the Van Tassell cemetery, arrangements being in charge of Peet Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Ed Davis, Bill Bekoff, Ed Hearn, Hill Boyles, Ralph McKelvey and Ben Seegrist.

Sine Sorene Madsen was born at Browst, Denmark on August 14, 1884. She came to America with her parents in 1895 and settled at Hurley, South Dakota. In 1905 she was united in marriage to W. H. L. Fjordbak at Yangton, So. Dak. With her husband she lived in Irene, So. Dak., until 1912, when they came to Lusk and in engaged in farming and ranching south of Lusk. On March 5, 1928, Mr. and Mrs. Fjordbak moved to Van Tassell where they have been since engaged in the mercantile business.

Mr. and Mrs. Fjordbak have no children. Besides her husband she is survived by her father, M. C. Madsen, who resides north of Van Tassell. Her mother died in 1924. Also surviving are her brothers, Chris Madsen, formerly of Lusk, but now of Denver: and Andrew Madsen, who resides near Rawhide Buttes; four sisters, Mrs. Oscar Peterson, from near Rawhide Buttes; Mrs. Amil Pearson, of South Dakota; Mrs. Woodbury of Centreville, S. D. and Mrs. Ambrosen of Cheyenne.

Most of the relatives will be here for the funeral Thursday afternoon at Van Tassell.

Mrs. Fjordbak had a host of friends in VanTassell, Lusk and the south part of the county, who will learn with sincere regret the news of her death.
