Robert M. Heumier

Memorial services for Robert M. Heumier, age 86, were held Dec. 16, 2002, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Torrington, with Rev. Marvin Temme officiating. Burial followed in the Valley View Cemetery.

Mr. Heumier died Dec. 9, 2002, at Crest View Care Center in Chadron, Neb.

He was born Oct. 16, 1916, in Lusk, the son of Charles and Faye (Mershon) Heumier. He was raised on the family ranch near Lusk and received his education in the Lusk schools.

He served in the Army Reserves and then in the Army Infantry in Germany during WWII. He was discharged in November of 1945 and married Lilette Klemke on March 25, 1946 at Torrington.

In 1948 the couple took a homestead project at Riverton, living there until 1979 when he retired and moved to Torrington.

He belonged to the "Laborers for Christ," a volunteer church building program, from 1985 to 1993; he was also an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and the Rex Young Rock Club.

He is survived by his wife "Letty", a son, Richard Heumier of Riverton; a daughter, Carolyn Kay DuBray of Torrington; and a brother, Don Heumier of Couer d'Alene, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Harriet Heumier; and a brother, Charles Heumier.

Colyer Funeral Home of Torrington was in charge of arrangements.
