Arthur Hockett Dies in Alliance

Arthur Hockett, 66, of southeastern Sioux County died Saturday morning at St. Joseph Hospital in Alliance. Mr. Hockett had been hospitalized since September 23.

He was born July 10, 1900, in Kearney County, Kan., and homesteaded near Lusk. He had ranched in Sioux County for the past 34 years. He married the former Violet Burckhart on December 20, 1926, at Lusk.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Geike of Harrison and Mrs. Edna Jines of Alliance; a son, Fred of Minatare; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Ward of Manville, Wyo., and Mrs. Daisy Tillotson of Napa, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hemingford Methodist Church with the Rev. A. D. Lewis officiating. Burial was in the Hemingford cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Geike and daughters attended the services.
