Betty Irene Jensen

Betty Irene Jensen was born February 5, 1922 at Broken Bow, Nebr., the daughter of William and Jenny Allbright. She died June 19 at her ranch home 5 1/2 miles east of Hat Creek after several years of illness.

Her family moved to Denver when she was a child and there she began school. They later moved to Manville, where Betty finished her schooling and grew up. On April 13, 1940 in Harrison, Nebr. she was married to Marvin W. Jensen. They made their home on the Jensen family homestead east of Hat Creek.

Betty was a 4-H cooking and sewing leader for several years and was active in the Hat Creek Ladies Club until she became too crippled to attend. She then became an honorary member. Even though they had no children of their own, their hearts and home were always open to other people's children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, Marvin; one sister, Kitty; many nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews, and great - great nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk Wed., June 22 with Rev. Tom Karnes officiating. Music was provided by Elizabeth Craske.

Soloist Mark Lohr sang, "In the Garden" and "Little Brown Church in the Wildwood."

Pallbearers were Noal Larson, Terry Larson, Walter Larson, Roy Sharp, Burr Bryant and Ben Mosier.

Interment was at Lusk Cemetery.

Peet Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
