Frances Louise Heckman Kant

Memorial services for Frances Louise Heckman Kant, age 52, will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 4 at the Bader Funeral Home in Lusk with Pastor Gary Walker officiating. Cremation has taken place.

Mrs. Kant died Saturday November 28 of natural causes at her home in Lusk.

She was born May 27, 1946 in Torrington, the daughter of Victor and Fern (Bandemer) Heckman.

During her childhood she lived in Torrington until 1961 when her family moved to Lance Creek, Wyoming. She graduated from Niobrara County High School in Lusk in 1965.

She married Walter Patrick Kant in 1965 and they resided in Lance Creek. During that time they operated Pat's Conoco, a gas station in Lance Creek in 1989.

Following a divorce, she moved to Lusk and began working for the Niobrara County hospital in the dietary department.

Fran was a member of the Elks Lodge in Lusk. She loved her family and friends, her job co-workers and the Dallas Cowboys football team.

She was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Fern Heckman.

Survivors include her two sons, Brad Kant of Lance Creek and Wally Kant of Glenrock; two brothers, Harold Heckman of Glenrock and Randy Heckman of Olympia, Wash.; and four grandchildren.

For those who wish, memorials to the Niobrara County Hospital District will be appreciated by the family.

Bader Funeral Home of Lusk is in charge of arrangements.
