Mass of Christian Burial for Louise Lawrence, who died March 14, was celebrated March 19 at Saint Anne's Catholic Church in Porterville, Calif. with Father Scott Daugherty officiating. Interment at a later date will be held in the Lusk Cemetery.

Louise was born December 5, 1921 in Douglas, Wyoming, the second daughter of Donald H. "Harry" Austin and Edna V. Austin. She attended schools in Douglas and Lusk, graduating from Lusk with the class of 1939.

A registered nurse, she received her R.N. degree from Mercy Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She pursued her nursing career at Basic Magnesium in Henderson, Nevada and the Moore-White Clinic in Los Angeles, Calif.

She married Lester W. Lawrence on November 23, 1946. After their children were older, she resumed her nursing career at the Porterville Developmental Center, managing the pediatric unit until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of St. Anne's Church and the California Nurses Association. She performed blood pressure checks at the Senior Center for fifteen years and was a volunteer driver for local cancer patients.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a younger sister, Donna Marie Austin.

Surviving are her husband, Lester of Porterville, Calif.; children: Leslie and her husband, Jim Woudstra and their son Christopher of Porterville, Calif.; Donald Lawrence and his sons Derek and Nicholas of Santa Cruz, Calif.; Dorothy and her husband Larry Rossi and their daughter Katy of Porterville, Calif.; Paula Lawrence of Berkley. Calif.; Robert Lawrence and his daughter Elyssa of Porterville, Calif.; Wendy and her husband Erick Snyder and daughters Monica and Danielle of Aptos, Calif.; sister Maxine Cock of Arlington, Va.; and aunt Margaret Averill of Porterville, Calif.
