Tim Matthews Killed

This community was saddened to learn Friday of the tragic death of Tim Mathews, 27, son of Jeannie and Leo Matthews of Thermopolis and formerly of Manville. He was killed in an industrial accident at the Bear Creek Uranium mine near Glenrock where he had worked since 1977. He was a journeyman electrician. Services were held May 28 at the Community Baptist Church in Glenrock. Tim went to school at Manville and played with the Lance Creek grade school basketball team and attended his first two years of high school in Lusk where he participated in football, basketball and track.

He was a nephew of Lila Stratton of this community and Maxine Miller, June and Dale Terrell of Lusk.
