Services for Paul McDaniel, 83, were held at 9 a.m. Saturday June 24, 1989, in the Peet Mortuary Chapel with The Rev. Robert Todd officiating. Burial followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. McDaniel died Wednesday, June 21, 1989, at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. He was born July 23, 1905, in Tarna, Neb., the son of Joseph and Mary McDaniel.

He came to Wyoming in the spring of 1921 and worked on various ranches around the Bright Community and later near Kaycee on a big roundup at the Davis Ranch. He returned to work on the Billie Snythe ranch and also broke horses on the Hogg Ranch. He also worked at a saw mill in the Black Hills and in the oil field near Osage, Wyo., for Lucky "Ed" Jones.

He married Ada Jones in August of 1925 at Custer, S.D. They started ranching in northern Niobrara County, where he had filed on a homestead and added more land to the ranch over the years.

Mr. McDaniel was a government trapper for about 10 years. He loved the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two sons, Dennis and Pat.

Survivors include his wife, Ada of Lusk; three sons, Bill of Lusk, Jack of Miles City, Mont., and Tom of Elizabeth, Col.; nine grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
