Edna Ethel Nowlin, 80, of Lusk, died October 2, at the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday from the Peet Mortuary in Lusk. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Officiating at the services were officers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) - John N. Norton, Bruce Gardiner, of the Lusk Branch and Joseph W. Bertagnole of the Casper Stake. Organist was Patricia Draper. Mrs. Wyoma Overman and Mrs. Claudia Gardiner sang "Jesus Lover of My Soul" and "Sister, Thou Wast Mild and Lovely."

Casket bearers were Donald Murphy, James Coen, John N. Norton, Bruce A. Gardiner, Larry Halligan and John Overman.

She was born September 21, 1890, at Council Bluffs, Iowa. As a young girl she moved with her family to Springview, Neb. In 1910 she married William Coen in Keyapaha County, Nebraska. In 1916 they moved to Morristown, S.D., and in 1924 to Nevada, Missouri. For the past 28 years she made her home in Lusk. She was affiliated with the Mormon Church.

Her parents, both husbands, one daughter, one son killed in Vietnam in 1969, seven brothers and sisters and two grandchildren died previously.

Survivors includes two sons, Harrison Coen, Lusk and Douglas; Richard Coen, Portland, Ore.; one daughter, Lela Parmely of Yakima, Wash., one sister, Mrs. Edith Coen of Lusk; one brother, Grover Gilson of Bemont, Texas, and 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
