Mrs. Paisley Former Resident Dies In Calif.

Mrs. Hattie Updike Paisley, 83, a former Lusk resident, died at Seaside, Calif. Saturday. Mrs. Paisley had been in good health and maintained her own home until five weeks before her death.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Peet Chapel in Lusk with a grandson, Charles Updike officiating. Mrs. H. J. Templeton and Mrs. Emerson Bonner sang "It Is Well With Soul" and "Rock of Ages." Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist. Pallbearers were Larry Updike, Donnie Updike, Chas. Davis, Eddie Lee Jones, Wm. Jenkins, Robert Adams, and Robert Townsend, also grandsons. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. Paisley was born May 20, 1877 in Florence, Kan. She married Charley Updike December 19, 1900 and they were the parents of six children. The family came to Wyoming in 1909. Mr. Updike died in 1930 and she later married Carlton Paisley who also preceded her in death. She moved to California in1941. She was a member of the Foursquare Church in Seaside.

Survivors include her six children, Mrs. Dorothy Davis of Catati, Calif.; Henry Updike , Newcastle; Richard and Lester Updike, Osage; Bennie Updike, Carmel, Calif.; and Claude Updike a Missionary to Guatemala. C. A.: 16 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Relatives attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Richard Updike, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Updike, Donald Updike, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Lee Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Townsend, Osage; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Updike, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Atkins, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Updike, Newcastle; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jinkens, Upton; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Updike, Winterset, Ia.; Benny Updike, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Davis and Charles Davis, Carmel, Calif.
