Mrs. Petz, Here since 1910, Dies of Heart Failure

Mrs. Edna Petz, 73, resident of Niobrara County for the past 51 years, died Friday at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital of a heart condition.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Peet Chapel with the Rev. James Davis of the Congregational Church officiating. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. A. F. DeCastro was the organist. Mrs. Val DeGroot sang, "Beautiful Isle" and "How Great Thou Art."

Pallbearers were Art Dalgarno, Dick Pfister, Roy Chamberlain, John Rees, Dr. R.W. Collins, Roy Johnson, Glen Cates, James Barrett and M. H. Wilhermsdorfer.

Honorary pallbearers were Earl Criss, Henry McGinnis, John Agnew, Fred Moore, W. D. Miller and Hans Gautschi.

Edna Chantel Scace was born at Wayne, Nebraska, October 31, 1891, the daughter of Stephen and Amelia Scace. She attended high school and the State Normal School there, first coming to Lusk in 1910. October 15, 1914 she and Henry Petz were married. They lived on the Petz ranch north of Lusk until 1943. Since that time she has resided in Lusk. Mr. Petz died in 1958.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Greta Alexander of Casper and Mrs. Barbara Rees of Denver; one sister, Mrs. Lucille Fegley of Lander; one grandson Randall Rees of Denver; a sister-in-law Mrs. Mary Scace of Lusk and one nephew Henry McGinnis of Lusk.
