John Amend Dies in Cody Oct. 6

John Amend, 67, Cody, Wyo., formerly of this area, died at the West Park County Hospital October 6. Funeral services were held from the Ballard Funeral Home Friday with burial in the Riverside Cemetery.

He was born Oct. 2, 1903, at Lincoln, Neb., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Amend. He came to Wyoming with his family in 1908. He married Marie Hahn Nov. 25, 1925, at Lincoln.

He worked for Marathon Oil Co. from 1927 until his retirement in 1960 and lived in Lance Creek and Grass Creek.

Survivors include his widow of Cody, two daughters, Mrs. Darene Rich, Cody, and Mrs. Dorothy Riley of Gering, Neb.; two brother, Henry of Lost Springs and Fred of Cody; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Gaukel of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Mrs. Marie Cox of Cody; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
