Graveside service was held Tuesday at 1:30 for Mary Mahood Scace, longtime Lusk resident, at the Lusk Cemetery with Rev. James Cavendar of the First Methodist Church, Laramie officiating. Mrs. Scace died July 31.

Casket bearers were her three grandsons Charles Beach, John Beach and David Beach, Ray Taylor and Kester Akers. Chapel of The Plains was in charge of the service. Memorials may be made to Cottey College Scholarship Fund, P.E.O. Chapter I Lusk, or Joy Scace Shade Scholarship Fund, Charleen Beach, 1005 Steele, Laramie, 82070.

Mary Mahood Scace was born April 18, 1889, at Columbus, Neb., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Mahood. She married Charles Edward Scace Aug. 22, 1916, at Council Bluff, Iowa. They lived on a ranch south of Lusk which he and his father had homesteaded until late in the 1920s when they moved to Lusk. Mr. Scace died Jan. 31, 1955.

Mrs. Scace was a home economics teacher at Wayne State in Neb., she was a member of Congregational Church Lusk, P.E.O. Chapter I, Niobrara County Republican Women's Club, and Congregational Church Circle. She moved to Laramie in 1973.

Survivors include one son Charles Edward Scace, Jr., Houston, Tex.; one daughter Charleen Sibyl Scace Beach, Laramie; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and three sisters of Columbus, Neb.

Persons from out-of-town attending the funeral were Charles E. Scace and family Houston, Tex., Mr. and Mrs. Ken Beach, Laramie, David Beach and family, Englewood, Colo., Charles Beach and family Phoenix, Ariz., Mr. and Mrs. John Beach, Greeley, Colo., Kent Dugan, Denver, Colo., Mrs. Arthur Scott and Mrs. Ruthie Lu Pyle and daughter Harrisburg, Neb.
