Karl Henry Schutt

Graveside services for Karl Henry Schutt, 77, were March 25, 1997, at the Lusk Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Lohr officiating. Memorials are to the family.

He died March 22 while recovering from pneumonia in the Niobrara County Hospital in Lusk. He was born April 14, 1919, in Sidney, Neb., to Louis and Martha Bethke Schutt. He attended schools in the Hay Springs and Panhandle School Districts and at Van Tassell. He finished the eighth grade and had to quit to help his folks at home. He married Ethel Porter of Harrison, Neb., May 28, 1942, at Crawford, Neb. They would have celebrated their 55th anniversary this year.

He worked in road construction as a carpenter and also ran a service station and cafe in both Glendo and Shawnee. He also worked in Lusk through the Green Thumb Program for the school district. He will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, four brothers and one grandson. Survivors include his wife of Lusk; son Ron and his wife Judy Schutt of Magna, Utah, daughter Bonnie and her husband Larry of Glendo, daughter Lorraine and her husband Lloyd Williams of Pine Bluffs, son Duane and his wife Kathy Schutt of Grand Island, Neb., and son Jerry and his wife Sue Schutt of Lusk; sister Norien Guerrero of Temple City, Calif.; sister-in-law Lillian Schutt of Caldwell, Idaho; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and step-children.
