Martha Schutt Dies Here Sunday

Mrs. Martha Schutt, 77, died in the Spencer Hospital Sunday, March 24, from complications following a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held today at 2:00 p.m. at the Peet Chapel with the Rev. Edward Poser of the Manville Community Alliance Church officiating.

Mrs. J.P. Watson is organist with Mrs. Poser and Mrs. Emerson Bonner singing "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Casket bearers are: Bert Marr, Milton Weber, Ed. Rogina, C.E. Marvin, Orville Manring and Eddie Marks.

Martha Augusta Bethke was born July 10, 1885 at Turen, Germany the daughter of Henry and Augusta Bethke. At the age of nine she came to America with her parents. They settled near York, Nebr.

In 1903 she was married to Louis Schutt. They were the parents of nine children, four of which died previously - Elsie, Florn, Vern and Arick. Her husband died in 1945. Her parents, three sisters and two brothers have also died.

She was a Gold Star mother and a member of the War Mothers.

She is survived by three daughters: Alice of Temple City, Calif., Novien of Pasadena, Calif., and Alna of Lusk, and two sons, Marion of Caldwell, Ida., and Carl of Manville; one sister, Minnie Hunche of Lincoln, Nebr., two brothers, Robert of Scappoose, Ore., and Charles of Falls City, Nebr.; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
