Edwin Tschacher

Services for Edwin Tschacher, 80, of Manville, were held Nov. 21, 2003, at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Lusk. Interment followed in the Dellview Cemetery at Manville.

Edwin Tschacher died at his home on Nov. 18, 2003.

Edwin was born in Hemingford, Neb., on Oct. 31, 1923, the son of Michael and Emma Annen Tschacher.

He married Frances Nadine Johnson on June 14, 1948. They resided at the Tschacher Ranch west of Manville for 47 years, until moving to Manville in 1995. In his 47 years on the ranch, his favorite activities were raising his kids, serving as a mechanic on his vehicles and equipment, and raising his sheep. He was active in 4-H, National Farmers Organization, school board, ASC, Farm Bureau, St. Leo's Catholic Church Board Member, and a member of St. Leo's Parish Council.

Edwin was the last surviving child of Emma and Michael Tschacher. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Laura Burke and Adeline Brooks Johnson; and two brothers, Lewis and Lloyd Tschacher.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; sons Marcus, Patrick, Michael and Lee Tschacher; daughters, Judith King, Kathleen Heine and Susan Croft; 24 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established to the Niobrara Senior Center in Lusk or the North Platte Home Health in Douglas.

Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
