Lester Wintermote

Former Lusk resident Lester Wintermote, 67, of Douglas died last Friday September 25 at Converse County Memorial Hospital of a heart attack. Funeral service was held at the First Baptist church in Douglas this Tuesday, with burial in Douglas Park Cemetery. Pastor Robert Norris officiated.

Lester Wintermote was born July 5, 1914 in Chambers, Nebr., to E. V. and Rachael Valentine Wintermote. At the age of two he moved with his parents from Chambers to their homestead east of Douglas on Shawnee Creek.

On June 17, 1939 he married Grace Bell York in Douglas. They have continued the ranching operation until the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife Grace, three daughters, Mrs. J. R. (Peggy) Middleton, Mrs. Dale (Joan) Wright, Mrs. Leroy (Sharon) Ferris; three sons, Allen, Vernon and Steven, all of Douglas and one sister Mrs. Zella Ratliff of Lander.

Memorials may be given to the donor's choice or to the Converse County Memorial Hospital intensive care unit.
