Duane Eugene Schutt

Duane Eugene Schutt, the son of Carl Henry and Ethel May (Porter), was born on Dec. 21, 1951 in Lusk, Wyoming. He passed away due to complications of open-heart surgery at the age of 55, on April 21, 2007 in Minneapolis, MN.

Duane grew up in the Lusk, Manville and Glendo areas of Wyoming and received his GED while serving for the United States Air Force during the years of 1970 to 1975 where he was trained as a mechanic and served in the Vietnam War.

Duane met Kathy his wife of 25 years in Hastings, Neb. at a CB dance in 1976. They were married on August 17, 1981 in North Platte Neb. They moved to Lusk and some time after moved to Cheyenne. In 1993 they moved to Grand Island, Neb. shortly after the birth of their granddaughter.

Duane was a member of the V.F.W. and was active with the HAM radio where he would go out storm spotting for the Grand Island area. Duane was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed going on annual deer hunting trips with his son-in-law and grandchildren.

His parents precede him in death. His wife Kathy of Grand Island Neb., daughter Penny and husband Jeff Earl and two grandchildren, Nathan and Elizabeth of Alda, Neb, survive him. Two sisters, Bonnie Sue and husband Larry Orr of Cheyenne, Lorraine and husband Lloyd Williams also of Cheyenne and two brothers, Ron Schutt and wife Judy of Magna Utah, Jerry Schutt and wife Patsy of Lusk also survive him.
