Garth Percival Dies in Montana

Garth D. Percival , 51, county agent for Powell and Deer Lodge Counties in Montana since 1955, died in his home at Deer Lodge Friday after an extended illness.

Funeral services were conducted Monday in Deer Lodge at the Ross Funeral Home by the Reverend A. M. Matar of the Butte Adventist Church. Graveside services were held in Lusk at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday with the Reverend Theodore Foster in charge. Pallbearers were Kenneth Hawkins, Frank Christian, Archie Huey, Gaylord Anderson, Roy Johnson and A. C. Bafford.

Garth D. Percival, son of Garth and Edna Percival was born in Keokuk, Ia. February 11, 1909. The family moved to a ranch near Lusk and he received his education here. He attended the University of Wyoming, taking graduate work after he received his degree. He taught vocational agriculture at Sundance and was county farm and home supervisor at Sundance, Lusk and Gillette. He farmed at Powell and was a life insurance underwriter and was county agent of Weston County for five years.

He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, National County Agent's Association and an honorary member of the Future Farmers of America.

Survivors include his wife, Mae; a daughter, Peggy; his mother Mrs. Edna Percival of Lusk; two sisters, Mrs. Harold Rogers, Lusk and Mrs. Flora Bray Albuquerque, N. M.; two brothers, Roger and Paul Percival Lusk.
