Services for Mrs. Packard Held Saturday

Mrs. Rozellie Packard, 90, resident of Niobrara County for the past 33 years, died at the Wilson Rest Home in Douglas last Wednesday due to informities of old age.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Peet Chapel with the Rev. C.W. Jervis of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. A.F. DeCastro was the organist. She accompanied Mrs. C.W. Jervis and Mrs. Lyle Eddy who sang, "The Old Rugged Cross", "Rock of Ages" and "Shall We Gather at the River".

Pallbearers were: Joe O'Brien, Ed Marks, Orville Manring, C.E. Marvin, Fred Hansen and Woodson Graham.

Rozellie Josephine Brott, daughter of Edwin T. and Amy Ann Brott, was born on Dec. 14, 1874 at Seneca Falls, N.Y. She came to Nebraska with her parents where she lived until her marriage to William Thomas Packard on May 10, 1897. After her husband's death, Nov. 23, 1929, she and her youngest son homesteaded north of Lusk. In 1936 they moved to Keeline and in 1946 to Lusk, where she resided until she was taken to the Wilson Nursing Home at Douglas in 1963. She was a member fo the First Baptist Church of Lusk.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Rodgers, Crawford, and Mrs. Rozellie Rodgers, Vallejo, Calif.; two sons, Robert Packard of Lusk and Elmer Packard of Kirtland, N.M.; 16 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives.

Mrs. Packard Dies in Douglas

Mrs. Rozellie Josephine Packard, 90, long time resident of Niobrara County, died Wednesday morning at the Wilson Nursing home in Douglas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday from the Peet Chapel.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Packard of Lusk and Elmer Packard of Farminton, N. Mex.; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Rodgers of Crawford and Mrs. Rozellie Rodgers of California.
