Dale Wayne Soderberg

Dale Wayne, 53, of Encampment, died Jan. 20, 2008 at Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie. He was born July 31, 1954 in Fort Collins, Colo., the son of Harry and Zella (Groenwold) Soderberg. He grew up in Masonville, Colo., and graduated from Loveland High School and went on to be a rancher. He met the love of his life, Lynn Newt and they were married on Oct. 24, 1980 in Fort Collins and then later moved to Wyoming to start their family. He was a gentle, soft-spoken man asking not much of life but the simple things. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend who worked hard and enjoyed life. Dale loved ranching, but took up the logging trade, and was awarded "Logger of the Year" in 2007 by the Colorado Timber Industry Association. He always looked forward to his yearly get away with his wife and good friends Joe and Margie Pittington.

He was preceded in death by his father Harry Soderberg and a brother Leonard Soderberg. Dale is survived by is wife Lynn Renee Soderberg of Encampment; his mother Zella Soderberg, a daughter Sarah R. Fitzwater and her husband Travis of Encampment; a son Levi Soderberg and special lady Sarah Beth Jones of Encampment; two grandchildren Kelsie and Martin Soderberg; a sister Bonnie Wolaver and her husband Dale of Pinedale; a brother Keith (Whitey) Soderberg and his wife Diana of Encampment; Eldon and Janet Newt, Ron and Debb Manderscheid, Brian and Becky Newt, Joe Newt and Sherrie Matz all of Loveland, Colo.; Tony and Joann Newt of Windsor, Colo.,; Valerie Newt of Cheyenne, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services were held Jan. 25 at Foothills Baptist Church in Encampment with Reverend Rhett Ivey and Pastor Mike Hamm officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Riverside.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Dale W. Soderberg Memorial, HC 32, Box 43, Encampment, WY 82325.
